President and Chief Executive Officer

Michael Hodges is the President and CEO of Airport Business Solutions, overseeing its headquarters, daily operations, quality control, and business development.

He began his career in commercial real estate in 1982 and quickly developed a specialty in aviation. Between 1988 and 1995, he completed numerous valuations and feasibility studies on aviation facilities, leading him to found The Aviation Appraisal Group, later renamed Airport Business Solutions to reflect the firm’s expanded advisory services.

Michael’s unique combination of commercial and aviation real estate expertise, FBO ownership and management, and hands-on aviation management experience enables creative, practical solutions for airports and aviation businesses worldwide. His work spans North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean, with a focus on delivering innovative strategies for complex aviation projects.

A recognized industry leader, Michael has been widely published and interviewed in global aviation publications and is a frequent speaker at conferences in the U.S. and internationally. Alongside Airport Business Solutions staff, he has led the annual “Essentials of Airport Business Management” seminar for the American Association of Airport Executives for over 20 years.

Executive Vice President

Bobbi Thompson is a certified member of AAAE and brings a rare breadth of aviation experience including FBO ownership/operations, airport management, environmental consulting, airshow management, and airport/general aviation leadership.

From 1978 to 1989, Bobbi was President of Aviation Sales, Inc., a two-location FBO chain in Dayton, Ohio, where she also managed one of the facilities. She later served as Director of Airports for Los Angeles County, overseeing five airports under a privatization contract, with responsibilities including staffing, budgets, policy development, lease negotiation, FAA compliance, and business development. Bobbi also managed a multi-year FAA environmental audit program, completing projects at airports nationwide.

Since joining ABS, Bobbi has also served as the Airport Director of both the Minden Tahoe Airport and Roswell Air Center under management of ABS Aviation Management, a sister company to ABS. She was the first female board member of the National Air Transportation Association and has served on multiple AAAE committees.

Her extensive experience across all aspects of general aviation makes Bobbi a recognized leader and problem-solver in the aviation industry.

Executive Vice President

Randy Bisgard leads our Denver office and brings over 50 years of diverse aviation service experience to clients. His expertise spans ramp operations, FBO facility design and construction, cargo and airline ground handling, security audits and training, marketing, and line and customer service training programs.

Before joining Airport Business Solutions, Randy held key positions with national FBO chains including Combs Gates and Jet Aviation of America, directing marketing campaigns, facility planning and development, terminal and hangar design, and ramp improvements. He also developed the Professional Line Service Training (PLST) program, co-led the Aviation Training Institute, and later co-led the Aviation Training Institute (ATI), now known as NATA’s Safety 1st Program. Randy was subsequently responsible for the GA Security module that became part of the Safety 1st program. Including the GA Security module for general aviation.

Randy’s experience extends to cargo operations, employee safety programs, and on-site FBO training, having worked with hundreds of aviation service organizations nationwide. He is an active member of AAAE, NATA, NBAA, and the American Society for Training & Development, and he is recognized for delivering practical, operational solutions that enhance efficiency, safety, and service quality.
